Problem Statement

Users need a way to keep updated on their vehicle repair process in real-time as well as price comparison so they know they are receiving great service.

User Interviews

I interviewed 4 participants with the goal of understanding their auto repair process. My focus was to identify what the key aspects and frustrations are.
Please explain how you feel when your vehicle breaks down?
What is your experience getting your vehicle repaired?
How long do you usually wait for your repairs to be done?
Can you trust the repair facility?

Affinity Mapping

I color coordinated each person I interviewed. My takeaways from the interview were trusting in the repair facility, cost of repairs, lack of knowledge of the repair, and length of repair.

Persona

Here is Bianca, the persona I created after my interviews. Bianca is a young professional living in the city with a very busy schedule and lots of goals. She works full-time while pursuing her master's degree, the last thing she needs is a car breakdown.

Recommendations for Features

Camera Fuction

Users / Repair Facility will be able to upload photos of broken parts and the replacement parts. This will ensure the repair was done.

Parts & Price Comparison

Users will be able to compare prices with what others are paying for a similar repair. This feature will aid the user to save money

Live update & tracking

Users will be able to track the repair process at every step. Similar to tracking a package. This feature will let the user see in real time the process of their repair. NO more waiting for phone calls!

Auto-save chat

Users / Repair facilities will be able to chat in messenger format, with auto-save. This feature keeps track of the chat and will expedite communication. No more he said/she said.

Payment Gateway

Users will be able to pay for the repair on the app. Applepay, Venmo, Paypal, etc. This feature allows the user to review the repair, and pay directly from their phone.  The only thing left is to just pick up your car!

List of services

Users will receive alerts via the app for future repairs and services. This feature will keep users on track for their future repairs/services.

Feature Prioritization

User Flow

Starting from the Home screen I created a User Task Flow Chart that emphasized important features such as registering an account and adding a vehicle/vehicles.

Sketches

I roughly sketched out ideas for the main home screen, adding vehicles, and repairs
