CHALLENGE: Why was a redesign needed?

This industry is highly competitive, the client wanted a full redesign. The primary goal was to redesign a site that would appeal to the upper class and commercial industries. With the industry's supply chain issues, demand is extremely high. The client wanted to align himself with that demand. We worked closely with the team and vendors for the website redesign. The client wanted the website to visually tell a story about their company.

- Visually too busy
- The site looks outdated
- Not mobile ready
- Did not convey high standards of quality

Project Goals

How might we create a brand that aligns with a new level of clientele

Objective 1

It's been said that pictures tell a thousand words. The client wanted the website to tell a visual story of their work.

Objective 2

With the recent supply chain issues, demand is extremely high. The client wants to provide superior quality products.

Objective 3

Most users are using mobile devices to browse the web. The client wanted an easily optimized mobile platform.

Content Audit

I approached this project with the client by first eliminating the unnecessary elements, features, verbiage, and photos. The client picked images in different categories to make the redesigned website more photo-driven and tell a visual story of their work. The client wanted the users to find the information quickly in a visually appealing manner.

I conducted interviews and ran usability tests of the current site with 4 of Coastal Granite's vendors. Here’s what they had to say:
Client 1
"This website was too busy”
Client 2
"The gallery didn't have updated photos of their work"
Client 3
"some links didn't go anywhere"
Client 4
"This website had unorganized information everywhere"

Style Guide

As per my Research. I used this color scheme to stay consistent with the company's already established business brand.

After the analysis of the current website state, it became apparent that the website would benefit from restructuring.

The ReDesign

Shown below is a side-by-side comparison of the old and redesigned version of the website. The redesigned site is photo-driven with minimal text. The photos should tell the story of the standard of work
